Last Thursday a group of about 50 riders set off from Ottawa on a 4 day bike journey that brought us to Kennebunkport, Maine. In the 4 day span our group covered about 750km, which included some of the most spectacular scenery the North-East has to offer. The climbs through Vermont and New Hampshire were totally inspiring! One of the highlights was hitting 94km/h on a descent!

Exploding Groundhog!

The thought of cycling around and around a 1km square circuit may seem boring to some but I find crit racing pretty exciting! There always seems to be action out on the course and you always have to be aware and prepared. But last night's action was a first for me!

Well the 2007 season has begun... but the first race of the year was very rough! On May 12, I raced in Ixtapa Mexico in the 2007 Ixtapa ITU Triathlon Pan American Cup. The race itself was a bit of a disaster and ended with a trip to the local naval hospital. Before I get to the race I have to back up a step and explain the bad luck I had in my travels (which I hope help justify the outcome).

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Another year has come and gone - so hard to believe! I would like to thank friends and family and everyone who has encouraged and supported me this year. Its been a fun year and I cant help but to think that the coming year will be even better. Our workouts at the indoor track are starting to really ramp up and swimming is going amazing after a couple 100km+ months.
I hope everyone passes a safe and enjoyable Christmas/New Year and I look forward to catching up with you all in the new year.

Triathlon Canada has released its national rankings this week and has me ranked at 16th. Its fun to see my name up on the board and gives me a target to beat for next year! Please see triathlon canada for details.

Westchester Triathlon

After a frustrating month of nagging injuries, it was somewhat disappointing to close off the season with a totally mediocre race. I still had a great time down in Rye - it was fun to hang out and race with some of the best triathletes on the continent. But I was hoping for a little more in the race itself.
